Senior HR Generalist

Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned and hands-on HR Generalist to support all aspects of Human Resources operations. This role is ideal for a true HR professional who has experience managing employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, compliance, recruiting, onboarding, workers' compensation, and performance management. This is not a recruiting-only position and requires an individual who can independently support employees and managers throughout the entire employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations matters including investigations, conflict resolution, corrective actions, performance management, and terminations.
  • Administer leave programs including FMLA, CFRA, ADA accommodations, pregnancy disability leave, and return-to-work processes.
  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims, medical documentation, and modified duty programs.
  • Lead onboarding, orientation, employee status changes, and offboarding activities.
  • Manage benefits administration, employee education, qualifying life events, and open enrollment activities.
  • Support full-cycle recruiting efforts including intake meetings, sourcing, interviewing, offers, and onboarding.
  • Maintain HRIS records and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and California employment laws and company policies.
  • Conduct HR audits, maintain personnel files, and support compliance initiatives.
  • Partner with managers to provide guidance on employee performance, policy interpretation, and workforce management.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist required
  • Strong employee relations and workplace investigation experience.
  • Demonstrated experience administering FMLA, CFRA, ADA, workers' compensation, and benefits programs.
  • Experience with corrective actions, performance management, and terminations.
  • Working knowledge of California labor laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent HR experience.
  • Experience supporting construction, manufacturing, logistics, or field-based workforces is highly preferred.

This role requires a true HR professional who can confidently advise managers, navigate sensitive employee situations, ensure compliance with California employment laws, and support a diverse workforce in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with experience supporting construction, manufacturing, logistics, transportation, or other field-based operations are highly preferred.

Compensation: $73,000-$85,000 annually
